The Daily News HFX Party: Matrix Reloaded Prescreening Party, Bayers Lake Empire Theatres, Halifax Friends of The Daily New's weekly entertainment guide, HFX, "entered the Matrix" during a prescreening party for the much anticipated movie, The Matrix Reloaded. The prescreening party took place at the Bayers Lake Empire Theatres - and Scanway was thrilled to provide the theme food for the evening! As guests entered the reception, they were greeted by Scanway servers dressed in Matrix-like garb - some were dressed like Agents in black suit and tie and some were outfitted in leather from head to toe; all wore the signature mirrored-sunglasses. Food was presented on black, mirrored and sleek glass serving trays, giving a futuristic effect reminiscent of the movie. The trays were garnished with the well-known green binary code from the movie, piped in green meringue. Textures for the event included leather and latex. On the reception platter tables in each of the three rooms, a phone theme (which played a major role throughout the movie) was creatively incorporated. The signature drink of the evening was the Plasma Martini, a funky grapefruit and vodka martini garnished with black licorice sticks.
