Saege Bistro - Private Dining Room
Saege Bistro provides private or corporate dining in 'Purple Saege' a unique dining room with it's own private entrance accommodating 60 people for a stand-up hors d'oeuvres reception or 15-45 people for a seated dining experience. The room is equipped with WIFI,CD / MP3 hookup, large projection screen, LCD projector & flip chart.

Cheapside Café
Art Gallery of Nova Scotia

Enjoy the Art of Private Dining. A vibrant art gallery café during the day, Cheapside Café moonlights as a unique and stylish venue for private rentals in the evening.

The Café is owned and operated by Scanway Catering, allowing event planners to have the luxury of choosing from any one of Scanway Catering s sit-down, buffet and reception menu options. Cheapside accommodates a maximum of 30 people for a sit-down or buffet meal and 75 people for a stand-up reception.

Art Gallery of Nova Scotia
Within walking distance from the historic Halifax waterfront, the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia is the perfect place to hold a meeting, seminar, presentation, cocktail reception or dinner party. The AGNS can accommodate sit-down meals for 80, cocktail parties for 200 or corporate conventions for up to 50. Located in the centre of the local business district and near all major hotels, your friends, family, organization or company can convene in the surrounding of our world-renowned permanent collection. Scanway is proud to be the exclusive caterer to the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.

Maritime Museum of the Atlantic
Arrange a reception, dinner, press conference or meeting in one of the world's finest maritime museums. The Museum's Small Craft Gallery, with its spectacular view of the Halifax Harbour, provides an ideal setting for up to 250 people. Your guests can enjoy exhibits including the Titanic, and the Halifax Explosion. An attractive meeting room for up to 40 people is also available. Private functions are held after regular museum hours.

Saint Mary's Boat Club
Just minutes from downtown Halifax, the St. Mary's Boat Club offers the perfect quiet setting for your special event. The large reception hall boasts hardwood floors, a magnificent view of the Northwest Arm, outside decks and lawn areas and plenty of parking. Open year-round, the facility is ideal for private and corporate functions, such as wedding receptions, family reunions, dances, picnics, luncheons, banquets, meetings or conventions.

Tall Ship Silva
Enjoy Scanway under sail! Tall Ship Silva is simply the finest charter boat Halifax can provide. Billowing sails, a beautiful day and great company, now that's the Maritime way to make a great impression! Perfect for unique corporate events, family fun and romantic weddings. The ship has been completely re-furbished and offers a unique and relaxing atmosphere. Silva has a capacity for 150 guests, offers a banquet room with formal dining, is a fully licensed vessel, has an enclosed pub with a view, can arrange for professional DJ service or live entertainment, and boasts an open air dance floor. It is also available for dockside parties.

Halifax Citadel National Historic Park
A favorite Canadian national historic site, the Halifax Citadel offers meeting space in a unique setting. The Courtyard can host tented events for up to 1500! Various rooms for group dinners and receptions, with atmosphere-building options - the skirl of bagpipes, the boom of the cannon, costumed animators, twilight tours, etc.

Cruise Pavilion on the Halifax Waterfront
We're delighted to offer this expansive, year-round harbourside venue which boasts 47,000 square feet of multipurpose space for sit-down dinners for up to 1000 and receptions for up to 2,500. Located on Marginal Road and operated by the Halifax Port Authority, this recently renovated warehouse includes amenities such as electrical and washroom facilities, and allows event planners and caterers to transform it into a memorable waterfront venue for your large scale event.

Rosewood On The Cove
The beautiful Oceanfront Landscaped grounds of Rosewood Cottages is the picture perfect setting for a private wedding. Nine unique individually designed and decorated cottages provide comfortable accommodations for over 40 guests. Beautiful landscaped oceanfront gardens can accommodate a large tent and a Dockside Gazebo provides a lovely romantic setting in which to exchange your vows in this fairy tale setting.

The Halifax Forum
The Halifax Forum is an arena and multi-purpose facility for all occasions and is a fabulous venue for sit- down dinners for up to 600 guests! Established in the late 1920's, the Halifax Forum Complex is a mixture of old and new. The original Forum facility housed many notable events, from fairs and exhibitions to a wide variety of sporting and entertainment events. Book a wedding, dance, meeting, ice rental, banquet, car show, craft show, trade show, sporting events - large or small - the Halifax Forum can accommodate them all.

Neptune Theatre
Offering world class live theatre production since 1963, Neptune and its sister theatre, the DuMaurier Theatre have undergone renovations in the past few years to make it the ideal spot to combine business and pleasure! Located in the heart of downtown Halifax, Neptune offers facility rentals for conferences, receptions, and gala events up to 479 people, including bar service, lighting, and audio-visual services.

Old Red Schoolhouse/ Peggy's Cove
Peggys Cove, the most photographed spot in Canada needs little description! Famous for its lighthouse and magnificent sunsets, it remains an active fishing village. Peggy's Cove is located on Nova Scotia's south shore, only fifty kilometers from Halifax. This schoolhouse is one of the oldest in the St. Margaret's Bay area still standing. The schoolhouse was constructed in 1839 and children attended until 1958. Now a popular performance venue, it accommodates approximately 40 for standup and 30 for sit down meal and adding an outside tent gives limitless options! Lobster boils, and gourmet picnic buffets are well suited for the Schoolhouse and the surrounding outdoor areas of this internationally renowned location.

Halifax Armoury
Built in 1886, the Halifax Armoury, a building of unique architectural and historical significance, has been used to host Gala Balls in the 1800's, as a shelter for refugees after the Halifax Explosion and Bedford Magazine Explosion and as the departure point for the Canadian Contingent Artillery and Mounted Rifles en route for the Boer War. Centrally located, the multipurpose space of the Halifax Armoury also includes an Officer's Mess, which accommodates sit-down dinners for up to 150 people.

Dalhousie Arts Centre
The Sculpture Court at the Dalhousie Arts Centre is an impressive and versatile area, which is often used for recitals, readings, trade exhibits, receptions and press conferences. It is located one level below the Rebecca Cohn Auditorium which has a total reserved seating capacity of 1040. The Dalhousie Art Gallery is located on the lower level of the Arts Centre below the Cohn. It is the oldest public art gallery in Halifax and can be made accessible to groups.

The St. Margaret's Bay Sailing Club
Located on the ocean and just 25 minutes from Halifax on the Peggy's Cove Road, the St. Margaret Sailing Club has been the beautiful backdrop for numerous weddings, artistic, social, and business events. The building is very versatile and allows for the easy flow of people throughout. The Club is licensed for groups up to 250 people and can easily accommodate functions with tables and settings for 100 people. The building has a wide open verandah and offers a spectacular panorama of St. Margaret's Bay.

The Museum of Natural History
The Museum of Natural History brings a unique atmosphere to your special event, wedding, party or gathering. The Marine Gallery and Museum Foyer (located just beyond the Nature Centre) provides a memorable setting your guests are sure to enjoy. The foyer houses traveling exhibits which may add special ambiance to your event. The space is most suitable for stand-up receptions or cocktail-style events. The Museum backyard offers a natural setting for events ranging from informal gatherings to weddings and wine and cheese receptions. Organizing parties may rent the backyard by itself or use it as part of a larger event located inside the building.

The Museum Boardroom comfortably accommodates 18-20 people around the table. The Museum Auditorium accommodates lecture-style presentations of various sizes. The folding wall can be used to divide the room into two spaces - a presentation and adjoining meet and greet areas.

Olympic Gardens
(St. Antonio's Church Hall) 2304 Hunter Street, Halifax
The Olympic Gardens, at the corner of Cunard and Hunter Streets, was opened to the public ca.1948 by Victor Beed and quickly became a popular dance hall in Halifax. Over the years it has been a successful venue for dinners and dances, fundraisers, concerts and awards events. This renovated local landmark will allow you and your guests to relive history and will accommodate approximately 300 guests for dinners and up to 700 guests for receptions.
